But December is also a month to think of winter. Some will think of snow or rain and others will think of how much they miss the summer (at least I do.) I still remember my first trip to the snow and how excited I was to slide down the snowy hills on my way to the mountains.

You can win a gift card by posting comments in December and January.
To do this, please click at the bottom of this article where it says COMMENTS and follow intructions to publish your story.
PLEASE remember to leave your name besides your e-mail so we know who you are.
Call us if you have questions.
865-2454

Audio Book program is growing. You get so involved in the story that you want to keep exercising! You can do any number of things while you listen.

The MP3 players can be borrowed from the Alameda Reads program by calling or e-mailing Jordona or Pat. If a tutor and learner want to pair up and have the audio players at the same time, you are welcome to do that too. We can arrange one-on-one training (the players take about 5 minutes to learn to use) for you too.

some of the new titles are:

Today Matters by John Maxwell
12 Daily practices to Guarantee Tomorrow’s Success

R is for Ricochet by Sue Grafton (A California mystery writer)

This I Believe by Jay Allison
The Personal Philosophies of Remarkable Women and Men

(Based on an NPR series that includes short essays by Isabel Allende, Colin Powell, Helen Keller and Jackie Robinson)

The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards

We urge you to call and take advantage of this great way to improve your reading and writing skills.
